G! What a Language

Thanks to Jeff Kodosky for sharing this June 2020 article in the Proceedings of ACM on Programming Languagues about the history of LabVIEW. In it, you may find a lot of nuggets, including why it originally was not targeted as a language, but became it anyway.

You will also read about the attempts, not always successful, to keep the dataflow language paradigm “pure”.

A fascinating, and long read, so grab a mug of coffee and enjoy.
